Hi Event Manager Users, reading through some of the threads regarding what some of you have been able to do with EM so far is enough to make some of us jealous.

You see, back when the various DST fixes were being released we noticed our EM (which was still in testing) stopped sending out workflow. We’ve had support requests in with Exact to see if they could get EM running for us since then to resolve this glaring issue which has left our EM module crippled. Between extensive testing on our side, completely re-installing EM, and having Exact consultants trying to solve the issue their final answer was: “Upgrading from 370 to 374 *may* resolve the issue itself.” Which as an answer while maybe well-intentioned has left us hanging.

We know EM works with version 370 and below were wondering if anyone ran in to anything similar to this while using EM or had any ideas on what else could need troubleshooting.

Do you mean workflows as in creating workflows in e-synergy or just sending e-mail notifications?

We had some problems with specific events not being sent out and I was never able to figure out why!!! A fix for us was to recreate these events from scratch.

We upgraded from 360 to 372 last week and all of the EM events which were supposed to create a workflow item stopped working. (Getting error messages that the URL is invalid and therefore login fails.)

Events which did database changes and events initiated from workflow to produce a report are working ok. (So it appears that the connection between eSynergy and EM is still there.)

We are still able to send e-mail notifications but all EM events that create workflow get hung up and return ODBC errors in the Monitor. Although Exact has looked in to it they’ve been unable to pinpoint why this occurred and what a viable solution could be. If this had been the result of say, an upgrade to a newer version at least we could assume that’s where the problem began but this issue came out of the blue in March and is yet to be resolved.

This sounds similar to what we’re experiencing although we’re on 370. We may upgrade from 370 to 372 this week to try and resolve other outstanding issues but if EM events you had created stopped working I’m doubtful that this will help us with what we need.

I'd love to hear more about 372 and from anyone else doing testing with this version or higher, it may give us the opportunity to avoid future headaches.

Our VAR was able to solve the problem and Event Manager is now creating the workflow items again in eSynergy. Per our IT guy, the VAR "had to make Intranet (local Web) security changes to give event manager full rights." I'm not sure exactly what changes he made, but the events we previously created are now working fine.
