Running on SQL Server 2000. We did a temporary close for 2014 and now we cant post journal entries or sub-ledgers in either year...2014 or 2015. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it. Thanks.

What is the exact, word for word error you are getting? Better yet add screen shots.

Did you ever do a final YE close for 2013? You cannot have more than 2 calendar years open in Progression.

There were no error messages. After selecting to print (to file or physically print, we tried both) the system would freeze. It would show it was processing until it eventually gave the Windows error "not responding". We let it run for over an hour in hopes it would eventually process, but, nothing happened.

2013 final year-end close was completed last summer.

Can you run a SQL trace on this?

Our IT contractor, who has been good in the past at solving problems and was referred to us by Exact, ran a trace for several hours and could not find the source of the problem. He is out of ideas, other than, re-installing the program and data bases from a backup. I was taking a long-shot that someone else may have run across this.

Yes, they are out of ideas also. They recommended a temporary fix of reversing the temp close, which obviously wont help us at the end of 2015. Do you have any other suggestions? Otherwise, we will reinstall the program and databases. Thanks for your help.

I would try the same thing in Macola Electronics. If you can post entries there, it is a database problem not an environmental problem. Please try this and let me know.
