Getting a report to run via Event Mrg seems pretty straigt forward. Is there a way to pass a Record Selection (filter) to crystal from event manager?

Is it possible to have Event Mgr create an e-synergy document? For my application it would be easy enough to use this instead of a crystal rpt.

I know you can have EM run a report with the selection criteria. I haven't tried posting it back into e-Synergy as a document though.

If you have a parameter setup in your selection criteria of the Crystal Report, when you add it to an Event, you are given the opportunity to tie the parameter to a column from the query used. I am using this function to allow individuals to request reports via Workflow in e-Synergy and have it emailed to them as a PDF file.

I figured that out after my post, but could not get it to work out in EM. After some back and forth with support, we figured out that my EM version was not compatible with Crytal 10 so it can not read the rpt file. Apparently there is a fix for this that is in test. I have my fingers crossed for a resolution soon!

My second question still stands though ... Can EM make an esyn document?

I thought I read somewhere the Event Manager v 5.7 was required if you are using Crystal 10. Version 5.6 supports Crystal 8.5. I think it was on the ES 360 download page.

I'd be interested to see if anyone has found a way to get EM to create a eSyn document. Maybe thru a script?

Currently, to my knowledge, the Exact Event Manager has not been equipped to create documents in Exact e-Synergy. I know that we have done some customization for at least one customer to accomplish such document creation, but it was more for their use, not a commercial application.

You cannot post it directly to synergy, but you can use a trick i use more in some implementations.

Send a mail with an attachment to a specific mail account, wich is located on a client running outlook with the Office Addin installed.

Configure the local client on that machine for that account that a mail, wich is received will be uploaded to e-synergy automaticly.

It's a long way but it works.



An other idea, but i've never worked this out before is that save the report to a specifiec location on the network and configure the asimport.exe for uploading a XML file wich refers to this document.

I can not get the parameter from CR to show up in EM.
I have EM 5.6 and CR 8.5
Can anybody give me a pointer to make this work.

This should really be a new thread.

Open your crystal report and see if "save with data" is checked. If it is uncheck it, re-save it, refresh it in Event Manager, etc.
