Sending out e-mails with someone other than administrator #1796

All,

Our system is currently set up to send out e-mails under the administrator e-mail account. Is there an easy way to have it send out e-mails from another e-mail address? I have tried to make it send from another account and I get the following error....

ACTVMSG_ERR_FAILONEPROVIDER=8116

Is this something simple that I am missing?

Thanks,

Manville

You should be able to send from any email account (you could technically send from a gmail account if you wanted to). You may want to take a look at doc 19.293.438 in the Exact Portal, It pertains to a similar error. The problem with email from event manager is that there are many variables that can cause issues and most aren't related to EEM but rather to Exchange or your server.

-Are you running exchange?
-Are the CDO components installed on your server?
-Is relay turned on in Exchange?
-Can you send a message from the account you are trying to use from Outlook express on your EEM server?
-Does it fail on messages to both internal and external emails?

Not sure if this will help a ton, but hopefully it might get you started in the right direction.
